Rev. Dr. Eliseo A. Mejia – Biography
Rev. Dr. Eliseo A. Mejia has dedicated more than 35 years to training, teaching, and equipping leaders across cultures, languages, and communities. A seasoned pastor, coach, and church-planting strategist, he has served in multi-ethnic settings throughout the United States and internationally, continually championing Spirit-led leadership and multiplication.
With a deep passion for helping leaders discover their purpose, pathway, and passion, Dr. Mejia has invested his life in forming healthy teams, planting new faith communities, and guiding leaders toward transformational impact.
Education and Scholarship
Dr. Mejia earned his Doctor of Ministry in Communication and Global Leadership from Asbury Theological Seminary (2014–2017). He previously completed his Sacred Theological Master in Pastoral Ministries at Dallas Theological Seminary (1984–1986).
His written work reflects his commitment to multicultural ministry and leader development. He is the author of The Between Two Worlds / Entre Dos Mundos (2021) and has contributed to influential works such as Missional Formation Coaching (Spanish translation and contextualization, 2020). His publications span church planting, missional formation, and theological reflection across cultures.
Coaching & Ministry Leadership
Dr. Mejia is a certified coach through The River Network, Missional Formation Coaching/Healthy Rhythms, Fresh Expressions/Ascent, and Path 1 (GBOD). His coaching ministry emphasizes encouragement, accountability, and helping leaders translate vision into reality.
He has served extensively as a church-planting coach, cohort leader, and mentor—developing multiple generations of church planters and guiding movements such as Ascent and Expresiones Divinas–Fresh Expressions. His work includes creating and cultivating new expressions of church in the everyday rhythms of diverse communities.
From 2001–2023, Dr. Mejia served as the Assistant Director of New Church and Congregational Development in Kentucky, working alongside bishops, cabinets, clergy, and laity to build a culture of multiplication and leadership excellence.
In 2025, he expanded his service as an Intercultural Engagement Coach, helping congregations create environments where people from every cultural and ethnic background feel welcomed, valued, and connected.
